Sham Shui Po Buildings Inside Out

The density in Hong Kong is what I am not used to. The buildings are so dense and tall, they almost become like a street wall that makes walking on the streets hardly feel like being outside: which explains why my interest went to an area called Sham Shui Po.

Sham Shui Po is an old area where most buildings have not yet been developed and still remain as only 6 - 8 stories tall buildings. I like being in the space as I felt like the shorter building allow more view to the sky, better ventilation, and provide enough sunlight which all these elements combined make the space feels so much more airy and not so cramped comparing to other areas.

In the diagrams below, I studied Sham Shui Po (specifically an area called Nam Cheong) in both pedestrian and residence perspectives and made comparison between themselves and another district. Researches are based on the sky vision, ventilation, and sunlight elements.
